Rain outside but a warm and friendly atmosphere inside with music supplied by David Lee ( Professional DJ). Thanks to Jude Gidney Photography and Lipgloss and Lenses for the images.
A rather unusual collection of items in this last group of exhibitors. The majority are last minute additions to the list of stall holders and I have limited details about their offerings – so a real must to come and see.
Natural Interventions are a Delph based company bringing with them a range of Forever Products with the healing power of Aloe Vera. The products have been proven to have health benefits of plumper healthy looking skin and maintenance of flexibility in joints – fantastic as we all head towards being Vintage ourselves.
Loretta Douglas will be offering a range of cards from Uk designers, Vintage Clothing 10 and 6, fashion inspired from the Vintage era.
Unique gifts and Nappy Products, 2 ladies, offering a range of again Vintage inspired gifts and hair decorations and amazing creations with Nappies, again got to seen to be believed. Ideal for a baby shower.
And we have Ma-bicyclette coming to the fair - a varied group of creatures, with a number of different hobbies that they blog about. A Creative group that’s worth a look.

What more could we ask for? The next 4 exhibitors really get down to the nitty gritty of the Vintage and Creative scene.
Victoria Ashworth, an internationally exhibited artist from neighbouring Mossley – exhibiting her original artwork. She is an artist that works with a great range of media – worth stopping and chatting about her travels abroad too. She works from a studio at the Woodend Mill in Mossley .
And as well as art Victoria has a business in the family selling collectibles -Ash Collectables selling silverware and Vintage products. A wealth of items to inspire and purchase.
Zenia Woman, aka Janine is a designer maker of kitch and retro jewellery- including pieces that are inspired by Alice in Wonderland and Old fashioned sweet shops. Got to be seen to be believed.
And we have another Vintage name, Victoria’s Wardrobe offering Vintage Clothing and Accessories. I’m hoping for a warm faux fur coat and no lions lurking in the background.
Introducing three more of our exhibitors offering beautiful and creative cakes, Vintage clothing and Sewing and Embroidery skills that are rare to find.
Hazelnut Bakery, are venturing from their bakery in Delph to join us. A new Bakery to the village but already wowing us with their creative and imaginative weekly themed cakes, pops and cupcakes. They are also known to offer the occasional cakey party and decorating skills workshops. Come to the fair and sample their baking – what the theme is this week is kept closely under wraps – come and see on Sunday!
Vintage Revolver, an online seller of Vintage clothes, housed in an old Mill on the outskirts of Stalybridge will be joining us and offering their clothes at cost effective prices. Come and grab a stylish bargain.
Maureen of Suprose Stitch, is an amazingly talented lady, with rare sewing skills that are the envy of many of us in this make do age. As well as beautiful embroidery she is also offering a dressmaking service for those Vintage patterns you may collect and fancy dress. She tells me she’ll also be displaying bunting and cushions all with a Vintage air.

Jubilee celebrations in Saddleworth are sure to go with a swing thanks to ambitious plans for a vintage festival.
Central to the bank holiday weekend celebrations in June will be a 1950s themed Vintage and Handmade Fair showcasing the best in local vintage influenced designers, makers and manufacturers.
The event has been put together by local jewellery designer Samantha Mills, SJM Designs along with makeup artist Lisa Gee and photographer Jude Gidney, who together run a vintage pamper party business, Lipgloss and Lenses.
“The fair and the festival are about marking the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, but more importantly they are about celebrating the wealth of creative talent we have in the region,” said Lisa. “In these times of economic hardship it is more important than ever that we support our local creative businesses.”
The fair, at Uppermill Civic Hall on June 3rd, is being promoted as an official event of Craft and Design Month. Key exhibitors already confirmed include internationally renowned Manchester jeweller Caroline Royal, Oldham Oxfam’s vintage collection and vintage reproduction clothing company Limb, based in Mossley.
Several exhibitors, including Delph’s Hazelnut Bakery, will be producing specially designed collections for the fair, influenced by the Jubilee and the 1950s. The fair will also feature a vintage tea room, run by and raising money for Dr Kershaw’s Hospice.
Additional events and entertainment are planned throughout Saddleworth during the weekend , which also features the famous Whit Friday band contests. A number of workshops will take place throughout the day at the fair, including vintage hair and makeup demonstrations by Lipgloss and Lenses. A website has been set up to promote the event, www.saddleworthvintage.co.uk.
Lisa added: “This is not just a one-off event. We hope to build up a network of local creative and vintage businesses so that we can all support each other. If the fair and the festival are a success we will look at making it an annual event.”

The first three of our exhibitors at the Fair on the 3rd offer a wide range of services from yummy delicious cakes, miniature replicas of buildings and restorations of old or damaged photographs and images.
Hayley, from Rainbow Delicious Bakery, will be offering cake decorating demos on the day and we are told will have a surprise creation to wow us with – have you seen her famous Cookie Cones? They are a sight to behold.
Alan Tolfrey, Mossley Model Maker, is a genius at recreating any well love building or work place into a miniature replica to surprise and delight visitors. Come and see his creations, boxed as delicate to the touch although painstakingly put together by hand. Alan has told me that his recent model commission is one of a local school, and that children have been fascinated looking at it as though they are giants and seeing their learning centre from a bird’s eye view.
Symon Randall, Restor8 Design Solutions, has photoshop skills and the patience of a saint. Come and see his amazing work, and listen to the hours he spends in such delicate restorations. His interests lie in bringing images back to life from battered and damaged states, or simply just aged and yellowing. I’m personally hoping that he’ll bring his history line of photography with him. And he tells me he’s already got his Vintage outfit sorted for the day – roll on the 3rd!
So put the date in your diary – 3rd June, Uppermill Civic Hall. 10-4pm. Looking forward to seeing you there.
